The Toddler Years Can Feel Overwhelming
Your toddler is on the move. They’re curious, determined, and discovering their independence. Some call this stage the “Terrible Twos.” But what if instead of tantrums and frustration, your child’s energy could be guided into purposeful exploration, joyful learning, and growing independence?
At Salem Montessori School, we believe toddlers aren’t “terrible”—they’re terrific. And with the right environment, these years can be some of the most rewarding for both children and parents.
A Place Designed Just for Toddlers
Our Toddler Community is intentionally prepared for children 18 months to 3 years old. Everything is at their level—beautiful, orderly, and safe—so they can explore with confidence. With freedom of movement, gentle guidance, and materials that meet their developmental needs, toddlers learn to:
Build Independence
From washing hands to caring for their environment, children discover the joy of “I can do it myself.”
Express Themselves Peacefully
Language blossoms as toddlers learn words for their big feelings and needs.
Develop Motor Skills
Purposeful movement and hands-on activities help children refine coordination, strength, and focus.
Practice Social Skills
Toddlers learn to respect others, share space, and even begin teaching younger peers
